Bangkok Rooftop Farming Joins SUSTAINABILITY EXPO 2024

From September 27 to October 6, 2024, Bangkok Rooftop Farming will participate in SUSTAINABILITY EXPO 2024, showcasing the concept of organic rooftop farming and urban farming derived from food waste generated within buildings and communities. This initiative transforms vacant urban spaces into green areas that generate multiple benefits, including revenue creation, job opportunities for vulnerable groups, and a source of fresh food for urban communities.

Bangkok Rooftop Farming’s concept goes beyond simply adding green spaces; it also emphasizes reducing the amount of food waste in communities and buildings by converting it into high-quality organic fertilizer for growing vegetables. The produce from these rooftop farms serves as a fresh food source for urban communities, reducing the carbon footprint associated with transporting food from rural areas to cities.

Furthermore, the rooftop farm project aims to create job opportunities for vulnerable groups within the community, who will be trained to participate in the care and development of the farm. This results in sustainable food security for urban communities and fosters a Circular Economy, aligning with sustainable development policies.

The Bangkok Rooftop Farming team is committed to expanding this concept to other unused rooftop spaces across the city, ensuring these spaces are used to their full potential in terms of increasing green areas, creating jobs, and providing safe and sustainable food sources for communities.

By participating in SUSTAINABILITY EXPO 2024, Bangkok Rooftop Farming not only demonstrates its commitment to sustainability in food production and environmental protection but also presents new opportunities for businesses and urban communities to get involved in waste reduction and environmental enhancement.
